DNI is co-organising a side event at UNCCD COP17 titled “Managing connectivity of wind, water and livestock for dryland restoration – A panel connecting dryland science, restoration practice and policy”.

Dryland degradation rarely comes from a single cause. Wind erosion, water runoff, vegetation loss and overgrazing are connected processes that accelerate one another when poorly managed, yet restoration planning often treats them separately. This session sets out a unifying, process-based framework: managing the pathways through which wind, water and grazing animals move material across landscapes. When these pathways are modified strategically, degradation becomes far more possible to manage.
